New Disaster Management Committee Formed

At a town meeting held on Thursday August 6, a new disaster management committee was formed for Portsmouth. The executive members are:
Ashton Riviere - Chairman
Marcus Charles - Vice Chair
Fenella Wenham-Quamie - Secretary/Treasurer
Election of a PRO was deferred to subsequent meeting.

The attendees were asked to serve on sub-committees. These committees are:
Education & Training, Shelter Management, Communication, Transportation, Damage Assessment & Reconstruction, Relief Distribution.

The management committee is made up of The Executive, Red Cross, Portsmouth Town Council, Heads of sub-committees, Parliamentary Representative, Police, Fire & Ambulance, Public Works and Heavy Equipment Owners, Ross University, Hospital, Marine Operators.

The public is urged to support this renewed effort in getting a disaster management committee going. You are also urged to serve on at least one sub-committee and make your services available for the well being of the town.
